Few words about us
About Yacht Club ``VEGA``
We are one of the oldest sailing clubs and sports clubs in the Republic of Croatia. We strive to popularize sailing by organizing sailing schools for children aged 7-12 in Optimist class sailboats, and for older ones in Laser class sailboats or on cruisers.
It is especially important to us that the training and competition of our sailors is, above all, safe, because the health of children and their safety at sea and on trips is the most important. That is why great attention is paid to equipment (outboard motors, inflatable boats, trailers, vans) and the purchase of equipment that would enable us to work even better and maintain the level of achieved results.
Our sailing school of world champions, from which real athletes and sea wolves grow, is the foundation on which we build all our activities and future, and special merit for the success of our young sailors belongs to our coaches.

History
Few words about history
August 14, 1886, the Nautical Club “PIETAS IULIA” was founded. It included water sports – sailing and rowing. At that time, a civic club was founded in Pula for the first time, which fostered sailing, a sport appropriate to Pula, which was founded in this very place because of the perfect natural harbor and refuge for ships that for centuries came to this harbor with full sails, carried by all winds, entering it either with the intention of bringing people and goods or with the need to escape from a storm.
In 1947, after some of the Club members left for Italy, the remaining members changed the name of the club and formally founded the Yacht Club “VEGA”. Sailing in Pula continued under this name until 1954, when “VEGA” merged with the Yugoslav Navy military club “J. RAKOVAC”, founded in 1953, to form the Yacht Club “MORNAR”. We operate and compete under that name until August 1992. year, when the name “VEGA” was returned to the Club.
